DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/09 13:59 Grain and Soy Markets Slip Lower on Beneficial Weekend Rains In quiet trade ahead of this week's August USDA report, grain and soybean futures moved lower, led by Chicago wheat. Some beneficial rains fell in some key areas of the Corn Belt, previously experiencing drought. Parts of Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin received some good rains. Rains early on Monday were moving through Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 2 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans closed down 7 cents, September KC wheat finished down 4 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat settled down 7 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was down 4 1/4 cents.
