DTN Closing Grain Comments 09/28 14:00 Grains Broadly Lower, Swayed By Outside Markets Active contracts of corn, soybeans, soy products and all three wheats were lower Tuesday, heavily swayed by rising interest rates, a lower stock market and a new 2021 high in the U.S. Dollar Index. One of the concerns investors have this week is the possibility of a federal government shutdown. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 7 cents and March corn was down 6 1/2 cents. November soybeans closed down 10 1/2 cents and March soybeans were down 10 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed down 15 3/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was down 15 3/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was down 14 1/4 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.40 at 93.79. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 493.94 points at 34,375.43. December gold is down $17.60 at $1,734.40, December silver is down $0.25 at $22.45 and December copper is down $0.0405. November crude oil is down $0.40 at $75.05, November heating oil is down $0.0118, November RBOB gasoline is down $0.0272 and November natural gas is up $0.128.
