DTN Early Word Grains 09/30 05:54 Grains Mixed Ahead of USDA Reports December corn is up 1 1/4 cents, November soybeans are down 1/2 cent and December KC wheat is up 3 1/4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: December corn is up 1 1/4 cents, November soybeans are down 1/2 cent and December KC wheat is up 3 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher with rumblings an agreement to temporarily fund the government may be in the works. Stocks in Europe and China are also trading higher early Thursday. Wednesday's report from the Energy Department showed crude oil production increased to 11.1 million barrels per day, just 400,000 barrels short of where it was before Hurricane Ida. November natural gas fell 40.3 cents Wednesday and Thursday's report on natural gas storage will be closely watched. Meanwhile, federal lawmakers have yet to reach an agreement to avoid a government shutdown on Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 90.73 at 34,390.72 and the S&P 500 up 6.83 at 4,359.46 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.54%. Early Thursday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 130 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.31% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.90%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.76%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.25% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.54%. The December euro is down $0.0003 at $1.1615. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.02 at 94.34. The December 30-year T-bond is up 11/32nds, while December gold is up $7.00 at $1,729.90 and November crude oil is up $0.35 at $75.18. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.9%, November soybeans were down 0.3%, January soybean meal was down 0.2% and January soybean oil was up 1.6%. September common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 2.7%.
