DTN Early Word Grains 10/25 05:54 Grains Off to Higher Start Monday December corn is up 1 3/4 cents, November soybeans are up 8 cents and December KC wheat is up 4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: December corn is up 1 3/4 cents, November soybeans are up 8 cents and December KC wheat is up 4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, Dow Jones futures are trading slightly higher, while European stocks are mixed. The S&P 500 index was up 1.6% last week and investors will be monitoring several big earnings reports, due out later this week. No major economic reports are scheduled Monday, but several media sources are reporting Democrats and the White House are making progress on a social spending bill, which is needed to move a bipartisan infrastructure bill forward. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 73.94 at 35,677.02 and the S&P 500 down 4.88 at 4,544.90 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.65%. Early Monday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 14 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.71% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.76%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.36%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.08% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.13%. The December euro is up $0.0012 at $1.1660. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.05 at 93.58. The December 30-year T-bond is down 4/32nds, while December gold is up $7.70 at $1,804.0 and December crude oil is up $0.80 at $84.56. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.6%, November soybeans were up 0.2%, January soybean meal was up 0.6% and January soybean oil was down 0.1%. September common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was up 0.3%. January Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.7%.
