IOWA . . . . . *PRIVATE SOURCES DTN COMMENTS: Things are slow to start in cattle feeding country this morning. At this time only a Regional in Eastern Nebraska is bidding $234, but those bids are being passed. Asking prices are around $145 in the South, but still not established in the North. Packer inquiry should continue to improve as the day progresses. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with light to moderate box movement. The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction held today reported 08 lots (6 lots in TX and 1 lot each in NE & KS), totaling 1,557 head of cattle. Opening prices were at $141 to $142, high bids had a range of $141.50 to $144.25, reserve prices were $143 to $145. Only 1 lot sold, 201 head in Nebraska at $144.25.
