DTN Early Word Grains 09/04 05:56 Grains Higher Early Friday December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 5 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 5 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains were able to erase a small part of Thursday's sell-off through early Friday morning, but remain vulnerable to renewed pressure if the U.S. dollar index sees a bullish reaction to the August nonfarm payroll and unemployment rate numbers. Soybeans were the strongest grain overnight, supported by continued solid export demand. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 23.08 points higher Thursday at 16,374.76. DJIA futures were 150 points lower overnight. Asian markets were lower with the Nikkei down 390.23 points at 17,792.16. European markets were also lower. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.144 at 96.261. Crude oil was $0.37 lower at $46.38 while Brent crude was $0.32 lower at $50.36. December gold was $1.00 lower at $1,123.50. The Dalian Exchange was closed while Malaysian palm oil futures were mixed.
