DTN Closing Livestock Comment 09/08 15:37 Livestock Futures Close Higher Tuesday Live and feeder cattle futures closed triple digits higher Tuesday. Lean hog contracts were also higher, but not as strongly so. By Rick Kment DTN Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Cash cattle trade was quiet today with no prices to report. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is .43 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($63.00-$67.50, weighted average $67.31). Corn closed up 5 1/2 cents in the September and up 5 1/4 cents in the December. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 390 points or 2.4% on the close.
