DTN Early Word Grains 09/08 05:57 A Different Kind of Turnaround Tuesday December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 7 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 8 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 7 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 8 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: The markets need a good psychologist. The latest economic news out of China was that its exports fell in August for a second straight month, the type of news that normally sends global markets tumbling. Instead, DJIA futures were 300 points higher on anticipation of China's central bank making another stimulus move. Grains were higher overnight into Tuesday morning while most energies and gold were lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 272.38 points lower Friday at 16,102.38. DJIA futures were 300 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher though the Nikkei was down 433.39 points at 17,427.08. China's Shanghai Composite was 90.03 points higher. European markets were higher. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.054 at 96.175. Crude oil was $0.90 lower at $45.15 while Brent crude was $0.97 higher at $48.60. December gold was $1.80 lower at $1,119.60. Soybeans at China's Dalian Exchange were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
