DTN Early Word Grains 09/10 05:55 Grains Tentative Ahead of Friday's Reports December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Global markets remain nervous, with many irons still in the fire Thursday morning. Global equities were mostly lower, with some of the blame pinned to the ongoing "to be or not to be" attitude of the U.S. Federal Reserve and higher interest rates. Also Japan's Nikkei came under heavy pressure, giving back some of Wednesday's large rally. Grain markets were higher for the fourth consecutive morning, though trade volume was light and gains were small. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 239.11 points lower Thursday at 16,492.38. DJIA futures were 83 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 470.89 points at 18,299.62. China's Shanghai Composite was off 45.20 points (1.39%). European markets were also mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.034 at 96.046. Crude oil was $0.43 higher at $44.59 while Brent crude was $0.26 higher at $47.84. December gold was $3.10 higher at $1,105.10. Soybeans at China's Dalian Exchange were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
