DTN Early Word Grains 10/14 05:57 No Surprise, Light Selling Seen in Grains Overnight December corn was 2 cents lower, November soybeans were 2 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat 1 cent lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents lower, November soybeans were 2 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: As expected, grains reacted to Tuesday's sharp rally by drifting lower overnight. Of the three lead contracts only December Chicago wheat posted higher trade through early Wednesday morning, hitting a session high 3/4 cent above unchanged. Overnight trade volume was light, a bullish technical factor indicating a lack of selling interest. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 49.97 points lower Tuesday at 17,081.89. The NASDAQ Composite was down 42.03 points at 4,796.61. DJIA futures were 1 point higher overnight. Asian markets were lower with the Nikkei down 343.74 points at 17,891.00 while China's Shanghai Composite was down 30.79 points. European markets were mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.220 at 94.539. Crude oil was $0.17 lower at $46.49 while Brent crude was $0.42 lower at $48.82. December gold was $2.60 higher at $1,168.00. Dalian soybean futures were mostly higher.
