DTN Early Word Grains 10/20 06:02 Another Tuesday, Another Turnaround December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 3 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent higher, November soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 3 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains were trading higher early Tuesday, naturally, after posting losses (for the most part) Friday and Monday. Contracts traded both sides of unchanged during the overnight session, with support from the lower U.S. dollar index propping up the grain complex. Also as expected, trade volume was light, a factor that should continue over the course of Tuesday's trade. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 14.57 points higher Monday at 17,230.54. The NASDAQ Composite was up 18.78 points at 4,905.47. DJIA futures were 64 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 75.92 points at 18,207.15 while China's Shanghai Composite was 38.63 points higher. European markets were mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.302 at 94.626. Crude oil was $0.11 higher at $46.00 while Brent crude was $0.08 lower at $48.53. December gold was $1.70 higher at $1,174.50. Dalian soybean futures were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
