DTN Early Word Grains 10/26 05:56 The China Syndrome Trims Gains in Grains December corn was fractionally higher, November soybeans were 3 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was 6 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally higher, November soybeans were 3 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was 6 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains started the overnight session higher, with Chicago wheat rallying almost 10-cents. And while wheat stayed firm through early Monday morning, Dec Chicago was still up 7 cents, selling tied to China's lower soybean market hit the bean complex. Corn contracts posted narrow 3-cent trading ranges, doing little over the course of the session. Outside markets were mixed with the U.S. dollar index and DJIA futures lower while gold and crude oil were higher. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 157.54 points higher Friday at 17,646.70. The NASDAQ Composite was up 111.81 points at 5,031.86. DJIA futures were 17 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 121.82 points at 18,947.12 while China's Shanghai Composite was up 17.15 points. European markets were also mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.134 at 96.906. Crude oil was $0.31 higher at $44.91 while Brent crude was $0.28 higher at $48.27. December gold was $2.90 higher at $1,165.70. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were lower.
