DTN Early Word Grains 10/27 05:56 Another "Jekyll and Hyde" Kind of Day December corn was 1 cent lower, November soybeans were 5 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, November soybeans were 5 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Grains did the opposite of what was seen Monday through early Tuesday, almost as if they once again had their personalities transformed overnight. Continued commercial buying had soybeans trading higher while both corn and wheat were giving back a small part of Monday's rallies. The U.S. dollar index remained under pressure, though neither gold nor crude oil could find much buying interest. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 23.65 points lower Monday at 17,623.05. The NASDAQ Composite was up 2.84 points at 5,034.70. DJIA futures were 11 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 170.08 points at 18,777.04 while China's Shanghai Composite was up 4.76 points. European markets were also mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.053 at 96.808. Crude oil was $0.39 lower at $43.59 while Brent crude was $0.26 lower at $47.28. December gold was $0.40 lower at $1,165.80. Dalian soybean futures were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
