By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally lower, January soybeans were 4 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 4 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains were mostly higher early Friday, with only corn unable to claw its way back above the surface of Thursday's close during the overnight session. Trade volume was moderate across the board in grains with support tied to the continued sell-off in the U.S. dollar index. Outside commodities were mixed with gold gaining back only a small portion of Thursday's sharp sell-off. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 23.72 points lower Thursday at 17,755.80. The NASDAQ Composite was down 21.42 points at 5,074.27. DJIA futures were 12 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei up 147.39 points at 19,083.10 while China's Shanghai Composite was down 4.75 points. European markets were also mixed. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.253 at 97.023. Crude oil was $0.05 lower at $46.01 while Brent crude was $0.29 higher at $49.09. December gold was $0.50 lower at $1,147.80. Dalian soybean and Malaysian palm oil futures were lower.
