DTN Early Word Grains 11/02 05:56 It's a Beautiful Morning! December corn was 2 cents lower, January soybeans were 2 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents lower, January soybeans were 2 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Yes; it's a Monday, and markets were mostly lower, but it's a beautiful morning anyway. Grains moved little from their open Sunday evening through early Monday morning, highlighted by corn contracts moving in less than a 2-cent range. Soybeans were higher, with contracts also posting narrow 4-cent trading ranges. DJIA futures turned higher, fighting off early pressure to follow-through on last month's strong move by the Dow. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 92.26 points lower Friday at 17,663.54. The NASDAQ Composite was down 20.52 points at 5,053.75. DJIA futures were 20 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 399.86 points at 18,683.24 while China's Shanghai Composite was down 57.48 points. European markets were mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.144 at 96.802. Crude oil was $0.76 lower at $45.83 while Brent crude was $0.74 lower at $48.84. December gold was $3.70 lower at $1,137.70. Dalian soybean futures were higher and Malaysian palm oil futures were lower.
