OMAHA (DTN) -- Eighty-five percent of the nation's corn and 92% of the soybeans were harvested as of Nov. 1, according to USDA's latest weekly Crop Progress report.

Corn is 85% harvested, compared to 75% last week and a 79% five-year average. "Monday's report was neutral-to-bearish for corn," said DTN Analyst Todd Hultman.

Soybeans are 92% harvested, compared to 87% last week and an 88% five-year average. "Monday's report should be viewed as neutral for soybeans," Hultman said.

Winter wheat planting is 88% complete, compared to 83% last week and a 90% five-year average. Seventy-two percent of the crop is emerged, compared to 62% last week and a 73% five-year average.

"USDA said that 49% of winter wheat was rated good-to-excellent, resulting in a six-point increase in the DTN Winter Wheat Condition Index to 132, which was down from 152 a year ago and down from the five-year average of 129," Hultman said. "Monday's report is neutral for wheat."

Seventy-nine percent of sorghum is harvested, compared to 71% last week and a 72% five-year average.

Fifty percent of the cotton crop is harvested, compared to 42% last week and the five-year average of 54%.
