DTN Early Word Grains 11/04 05:57 Another Weak Wednesday December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Grain markets were mixed early Wednesday with corn and wheat lower and the bean complex higher. Trade volume was light across the board, with the continued rally in the U.S. dollar index keeping buyers on the sidelines. Outside markets were higher though as metals and energies both showed gains. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 89.39 points higher Tuesday at 17,918.15. The NASDAQ Composite was up 17.98 points at 5,145.13. DJIA futures were 30 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 243.67 points at 18,926.91 and China's Shanghai Composite rallied 142.94 points (4.31%). European markets were also mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.280 at 97.438. Crude oil was $0.04 higher at $47.94 while Brent crude was $0.09 higher at $50.63. December gold was $3.20 higher at $1,117.30. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
