DTN Early Word Grains 11/05 05:56 Grains Lower Early Thursday December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 1 cent lower, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 1 cent lower, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: Grain markets were under pressure early Thursday with corn and soybean contracts near session lows. Outside markets were mixed, though gold was showing only a small gain and crude oil minor losses. The U.S. dollar index and DJIA futures were both posting modest rallies. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 50.57 points lower Wednesday at 17,867.58. The NASDAQ Composite was down 2.65 points at 5,142.48. DJIA futures were 36 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 189.50 points at 19,116.41 and China's Shanghai Composite rallied 63.18 points (1.8%). European markets were also mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.030 at 97.980. Crude oil was $0.01 lower at $46.31 while Brent crude was $0.09 higher at $48.67. December gold was $0.70 higher at $1,106.90. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower.
