By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally higher, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 4 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Soybean and corn contracts were quietly higher early Friday, though gaining back only a small fraction of what was lost during Thursday's sell-off. Wheat contracts were lower, with commercial buying continuing to provide support in the Chicago market. The U.S. dollar index extended its rally while DJIA futures were lower, both anxiously awaiting the release of October nonfarm payroll and unemployment numbers that could set the stage for the Fed to move on interest rates in December. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 4.15 points lower Thursday at 17,863.43. The NASDAQ Composite was down 14.74 points at 5,127.74. DJIA futures were 18 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei up 149.19 points at 19,265.60 and China's Shanghai Composite rallied 67.21 points (1.9%). European markets were mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.141 at 98.077. Crude oil was $0.30 higher at $45.50 while Brent crude was $0.42 higher at $48.40. December gold was $3.70 higher at $1,107.90. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower.
