DTN Early Word Grains 11/09 05:58 A Meaningless Monday Ahead of Tuesday's Reports December corn was fractionally higher, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 6 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally higher, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 6 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Soybean and corn contracts were quietly higher again early Monday, while wheat contracts showed solid sell-offs overnight. January beans were 3 cents higher and gaining on the March contract. Corn in general was only fractionally higher, posting a 3 1/2 cent trading range. Dec Chicago wheat was off 6 cents. Outside markets were mostly higher, supported by a sell-off of 0.180 in the U.S. dollar index. DJIA futures were also lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 46.90 points higher Friday at 17,910.33. The NASDAQ Composite was up 19.38 points at 5,147.12. DJIA futures were 44 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei up 377.14 points at 19,642.74 and China's Shanghai Composite rallied 56.85 points (1.58%). European markets were also mixed. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.193 at 98.955. Crude oil was $0.16 higher at $44.45 while Brent crude was $0.29 higher at $47.71. December gold was $3.40 higher at $1,091.10. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both higher.
