DTN Early Word Grains 11/12 07:46 Opinions Remain Mixed on Grains December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 2 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 2 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains are mostly lower early Thursday, though trade volume was lighter than what was seen over recent days. Action in futures spreads implied commercial buying continues to provide support, though again, low volume can skew spread results. Outside markets were mostly higher with crude oil showing a small loss and copper lower early. The U.S. dollar index was higher while DJIA futures were showing a small loss. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 55.99 points lower Wednesday at 17,702.22. The NASDAQ Composite was down 16.22 points at 5,067.02. DJIA futures were 29 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei up 6.38 points at 19,697.77 and China's Shanghai Composite was down 17.35 points. European markets were lower. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.067 at 99.080. Crude oil was $0.04 lower at $42.89 while Brent crude was $0.05 higher at $45.86. December gold was $1.60 higher at $1,086.50. Dalian soybean futures were higher and Malaysian palm oil futures were mostly lower.
