DTN Early Word Grains 11/13 05:57 Grains Mostly Lower Early Friday December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 4 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally mixed. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 4 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally mixed. CME Globex Recap: Corn and soybeans were unable to trade higher during the overnight session, at least through early Friday morning. Both erased Thursday's rallies though trade volume was much lighter than what was seen yesterday morning. Wheat contracts were fractionally mixed, again in low trade volume. Outside markets were mostly higher despite a small rally in the U.S. dollar index. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 254.15 points lower Thursday at 17,448.07. The NASDAQ Composite was down 61.94 points at 5,005.08. DJIA futures were 26 points lower overnight. Asian markets were lower with the Nikkei down 100.86 points at 19,596.91 and China's Shanghai Composite was down 52.06 points (1.4%). European markets were mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.015 at 98.664. Crude oil was $0.17 higher at $41.92 while Brent crude was $0.58 higher at $44.64. December gold was $4.50 higher at $1,085.50. Dalian soybean futures were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were lower.
