DTN Early Word Grains 11/20 05:59 Grains Mostly Lower Early Friday December corn was fractionally lower, January soybeans were 5 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally lower, January soybeans were 5 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains were mostly lower overnight, led by global oilseed markets. Soybeans were showing the largest loss on higher trade volume, possibly in anticipation of weak trade Friday ahead of Argentina's weekend presidential election. Corn posted a narrow 1 cent trading range, pressured by spillover selling from soybeans. Wheat was higher despite renewed buying in the U.S. dollar index. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 4.41 points lower Thursday at 17,732.75. The NASDAQ Composite was down 1.56 points at 5,073.64. DJIA futures were 49 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 20.00 points at 19,879.81 and China's Shanghai Composite 13.44 points higher. European markets were mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.173 at 99.162. Crude oil was $0.32 lower at $40.22 while Brent crude was $0.13 higher at $44.31. December gold was $7.10 higher at $1,085.00. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower.
