By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn was 1 cent higher, January soybeans were 3 cents higher, and March Chicago wheat was 3 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grain contracts were showing small gains early Friday, ahead of USDA's December reports set for release later in the morning. Light support was tied to the sell-off in the U.S. dollar index, with overnight headlines suggesting the Federal Reserve could have second thoughts regarding raising rates on December 16 due to weak commodity markets. Gold and crude oil both posted modest rallies while DJIA futures were lower again. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 162.51 points lower Tuesday at 17,568.00. The NASDAQ Composite was down 3.57 points at 5,098.24. DJIA futures were 13 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 191.53 points at 19,301.07 while China's Shanghai Composite rallied 2.37 points. European markets were lower. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.388 at 98.085. Crude oil was $0.54 higher at $38.05 while Brent crude was $0.51 higher at $40.77. February gold was $2.90 higher at $1,078.20. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower.
