DTN Early Word Grains 12/21 05:58 Grains Rebound Overnight March corn was 2 cents higher, January soybeans were 4 cent higher, and March Chicago wheat was 1 cent higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn was 2 cents higher, January soybeans were 4 cent higher, and March Chicago wheat was 1 cent higher. CME Globex Recap: After a lower Sunday evening opening to grains, markets were able to rebound through early Monday morning. Soybeans led the way, providing spillover support to both corn and wheat. Outside markets were mixed with metals higher and energies mostly lower. The U.S. dollar index had also shaken off a lower Sunday evening trader to post small gains. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 367.29 points lower Friday at 17,128.55. The NASDAQ Composite was down 79.47 points at 4,923.08. DJIA futures were 135 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher tough the Nikkei was down 70.78 points at 18,916.02 while China's Shanghai Composite rallied 63.51 points. European markets were also mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.061 at 98.764. Crude oil was $0.31 lower at $34.42 while Brent crude was $0.39 lower at $36.49. February gold was $6.10 higher at $1,071.10. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
