By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn was 1/2 cent lower, January soybeans were 1/4 cent higher, and March Chicago wheat was 1 3/4 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: To begin with, Christmas Eve morning meaning grains will see a holiday shortened trading session Thursday. Markets were as lifeless as a door knocker during the overnight session with soybeans fractionally higher, corn fractionally lower, and wheat posting a 1 1/2 cent rally on the lower U.S. dollar index. Both metals and energies were also mixed. DJIA futures were showing small losses, possibly hinting at the Dow trading lower for the first time this week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 185.34 points higher Wednesday at 17,602.61. The NASDAQ Composite was up 44.82 points at 5,045.93. DJIA futures were 1 point lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 97.01 points at 18,789.69 while China's Shanghai composite was off 23.60 points. European markets were mostly higher. The U.S. dollar index was down 0.373 at 97.962. Crude oil was $0.05 higher at $37.55 while Brent crude was $0.24 lower at $37.12. February gold was $3.30 higher at $1,071.60. Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both quietly higher.
