By John Harrington DTN Livestock Analyst Cattle: Cash Higher Futures 25-50 HR Live Equiv $145.91 + $3.34* Hogs: Cash Steady-$1 HR Futures Mixed Lean Equiv $73.81 + .90** * based on formula estimating live cattle equivalent of gross packer revenue ** based on formula estimating lean hog equivalent of gross packer revenue GENERAL COMMENTS: Tuesday is typically a yawner in the cash cattle market, and the first one of 2016 should be no exception. Our guess is that asking prices will start out around $138 to $140 in the South and $215 to $220 in the North. Significant trade volume will probably be delayed until Thursday or Friday. Live and feeder contracts are likely to open moderately higher, supported by follow-through buying and ?he ongoing rally in the wholesale beef trade.
