Trading activity remains relatively light, with west coast exporters seeing some traditional Pacific Rim buying interest this week. Japan will be in the market this week to cover 4.8 mb from the US, Australia and Canada. South Korea and Taiwan have also been seeking an offer on US wheat. Shipments..Weekly export inspections showed a slightly better pace of wheat shipments off US ports last week, coming in at 12.8 mb to put the year-to-date total at 446 mb and 12% behind a year ago. Hard red spring was the top shipper with 6 mb loaded off the PNW, followed by soft white with 3.3 mb for the week. The Philippines and Japan were top destination, but Indonesia and Thailand were also on the list.
