Trading activity remains very limited, with exporters entertaining offeres for Japan this week; seeking 4.8 mb of wheat from the US and Canada to cover a portion of their March requirements. Carry structures show white wheat bids flattening between January and March, while both hard red winter and red spring markets are bid flat into April. Weather conditions across the Pacific Northwest have warmed with additional moisture expected through the week. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed total wheat loadings down slightly from last week at 12.5 mb, putting year-to-date shipments at 473 mb and down 11% from a year ago. Hard red winter was top shipper with 5.7 mb followed by soft white with 3.2 mb. Japan was the major destination off the west coast, with ships also under the spout for both South Korea and Guatemala. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2016 DTN/Telvent.
