DTN Closing Livestock Comment 02/23 15:57 Cattle Futures Close Higher Live and feeder cattle contracts closed higher Tuesday. Lean hog futures were mixed, with the nearby contracts higher and July on out lower. By Rick Kment DTN Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Cash cattle trade is at a standstill Tuesday. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $1.39 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($59.00-64.25, weighted average $63.13). Corn futures closed lower, down 5 1/2 cents in the March and down 5 1/4 cents in the July.
