By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was 1 cent higher, May soybeans were 5 cents higher, and July Kansas City wheat was 1 cent higher. CME Globex Recap: Markets in general were higher early Friday, led by strong rallies in crude oil and soybeans. Only Chicago wheat and gold were posting small losses. The U.S. dollar index was gaining back some of Thursday's volatile sell-off as traders debate the fallout of the European Central Bank's latest moves. Global equities were mostly higher, including DJIA futures pointing to a stronger open by the U.S. market later in the morning. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 5.23 points lower at 16,995.13, the NASDAQ Composite was down 12.22 points at 4,662.16, while the S&P 500 rallied 0.31 points to close at 1,989.57 Thursday. DJIA futures were 164 points higher overnight. Asian markets were higher with the Nikkei up 86.52 points (0.5%) while China's Shanghai Composite rallied 5.58 points (0.2%). European markets were mostly higher following Thursday's European Central Bank Meeting with London's FTSE 100 up 93.70 points (1.5%). The U.S. dollar index was up 0.572 at 96.638. Crude oil was up $1.00 at $38.84 while Brent crude gained $0.79 to $40.84. April gold was $7.50 lower at $1,265.30. China's Dalian soybean futures were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
