DTN Early Word Grains 03/22 05:57 Grains Higher; Bombing In Brussels May corn was up 1 cent, May soybeans were up 4 1/4 cents, and July Kansas City wheat was up 4 3/4 cents. By Todd Hultman DTN Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was up 1 cent, May soybeans were up 4 1/4 cents, and July Kansas City wheat was up 4 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Grain prices are starting steady to higher in spite of overnight news from BBC of a deadly bombing at a Brussels airport. European and U.S. stock market futures are less than a percent lower while April gold is up $7.80 and crude oil is roughly steady. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 21.57 points higher at 17,623.87; the NASDAQ Composite was up 13.22 points at 4,808.87, while the S&P 500 was up 2.02 points at 2,051.60 Monday. DJIA futures are 48 points lower overnight. Asian markets are mixed with the Nikkei up 35 points (.6%) while China's Shanghai Composite is down 19 points (-.6%). European markets are steady to lower with London's FTSE 100 down 23 points (0.4%). The U.S. dollar index is up 0.31 at 95.60. Crude oil is up $0.03 at $41.55 while Brent crude is up $0.04 at $41.58. April gold was $7.80 higher at $1,252.00. China's Dalian soybean futures were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were also higher.
