By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was fractionally higher, May soybeans were 1 cent lower, and July Kansas City wheat was 7 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Once again corn was the stronger of the three grain markets, posting fractional gains after a narrowly traded overnight session. Soybeans and wheat were both lower, the latter a result of bearish weekly NASS crop condition numbers released Tuesday afternoon. The U.S. dollar index was also higher early Wednesday, putting pressure on the metals sector. Energies were mostly higher, led by more talk of a possible crude oil production freeze. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 133.68 points lower at 17,603.32, the NASDAQ Composite was down 47.87 points at 4,843.93, and the S&P 500 fell 20.96 points to close at 2,045.17 Tuesday. DJIA futures were 40 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei down another 17.46 points (0.1%) and China's Shanghai Composite dipped 2.47 points (0.1%). June gold was $3.30 lower at $1,226.30. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower.
