DTN Early Word Grains 04/27 05:59 Grains Don't Show Gains Despite the Rains July corn was slightly lower, July soybeans were 3 cents lower, and July Kansas City wheat was 1 cent lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was slightly lower, July soybeans were 3 cents lower, and July Kansas City wheat was 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: Grain markets were lower early Wednesday, giving back some of Tuesday's impressive rally. Outside markets were mostly higher with solid gains seen in energies while gold posted a more modest gain. The U.S. dollar index remains under pressure ahead of FOMC Chairwoman Yellen's comments at the conclusion of the April two-day meeting. DJIA futures were also lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 13.08 points higher at 17,990.32, the NASDAQ Composite was down 7.51 points at 4,888.28, and the S&P 500 rallied 3.90 points to close at 2,091.69 Tuesday. DJIA futures were 33 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly lower with the Nikkei down 62.79 points (0.4%) while China's Shanghai Composite fell 11.03 points (0.4%). European markets were mixed with London's FTSE 100 down 8.99 points (0.1%). The U.S. dollar index lost another 0.106 to 94.467. Crude oil gained $0.97 to $45.86 and Brent crude rallied $1.19 to $46.93. June gold was $3.60 higher at $1,247.00. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower Wednesday morning.
