DTN Early Word Grains 06/01 06:00 Row Crops Lower, Off To Good Start July corn was down 3 cents, July soybeans were down 6 3/4 cents, and July Chicago wheat was up 3/4 cent. By Todd Hultman DTN Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was down 3 cents, July soybeans were down 6 3/4 cents, and July Chicago wheat was up 3/4 cent. CME Globex Recap: Corn and soybeans were lower early Wednesday after USDA said 72% of the corn was rated good-to-excellent and soybean planting was ahead of schedule. Wheat prices are slightly higher even though USDA awarded high crop ratings to both, winter and spring crops. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 86.02 points lower Friday at 17,787.20; the NASDAQ Composite was up 14.55 points at 4,948.05, and the S&P 500 was down 2.10 points at 2,096.96. DJIA futures are 61 points lower overnight. Asian markets are lower with the Nikkei down 195.00 (-1.1%) while China's Shanghai Composite is down 3.1%. European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 35.5 points (-0.6%). The U.S. dollar index is down 0.35 at 95.54. August gold was $0.50 higher at $1,218.00. China's Dalian soybean futures were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were .8% lower.
