DTN Early Word Grains 06/07 05:56 Grains Mostly Lower Early Tuesday July corn was 2 cents lower, July beans were 1 cent higher, and July Chicago wheat was 5 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was 2 cents lower, July beans were 1 cent higher, and July Chicago wheat was 5 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Grain contracts were lower early Tuesday, partly in reaction to Monday's solid rallies. Trade volume was relatively light across the board, particularly when compared to Sunday night's active trade. Outside markets were mixed with crude oil continuing to rally while gold fell a bit. The U.S. dollar index continues to trade quietly following Chairwoman Yellen's vague comments regarding interest rates Monday afternoon. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 113.27 points higher at 17,920.33, the NASDAQ Composite gained 26.19 points to 4,968.71, and the S&P 500 rallied 10.28 points to close at 2,109.41 Monday. DJIA futures were 58 points higher overnight. Asian markets were higher with Japan's Nikkei up 95.42 points (0.6%) while China's Shanghai Composite gained 1.95 points. European markets were also higher with London's FTSE 100 up 37.78 points (0.6%). The U.S. dollar index lost 0.064 to 93.838. Crude oil rallied $0.19 to $49.88 while Brent crude was up $0.23 to $50.77. August gold was $3.30 lower at $1,244.10. China's Dalian soybean futures posted small gains while Malaysian palm oil futures were lower overnight.
