DTN Early Word Grains 07/07 05:59 Thursday Morning Coming Down December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 14 cents lower, and September Kansas City wheat was 2 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 14 cents lower, and September Kansas City wheat was 2 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Global oilseeds were down again early Thursday morning with solid losses seen in both Chicago and Dalian soybeans. Corn and wheat markets, on the other hand, were able to post small gains overnight as noncommercial selling took a break. Outside markets were mixed with the energy complex gaining back some of its recent decline while gold posted a small loss. The U.S. dollar index was lower and DJIA higher as traders await Friday's employment numbers. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 78.00 points higher at 17,918.62, the NASDAQ Composite gained 36.26 points to 4,859.16 and the S&P 500 rallied 11.18 points to close at 2,099.73 Wednesday. DJIA futures were 13 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei down 102.75 points (0.7%) while China's Shanghai Composite slipped 0.45 points. European markets were higher with London's FTSE 100 up 93.79 points (1.5%), Germany's DAX was 93.86 points (1.0%) higher, and France's CAC 40 gained 61.85 points (1.5%). The U.S. dollar index was down 0.05 to 96.048. Crude oil was up $0.53 to $47.96 while Brent crude rallied $0.50 to $49.30. August gold was $1.10 lower at $1,366.00. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were lower again overnight.
