By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 9 cents higher, November soybeans were 14 cents higher, and September Chicago wheat was 7 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains were higher again overnight, driven higher by weather forecast concerns. Similar to Wednesday morning, contracts were sitting near session highs early Thursday despite a slight rally in the U.S. dollar index and renewed selling in gold. The volatile crude oil marker was quietly higher overnight, though volume is expected to increase as Thursday progresses. DJIA futures were sharply higher and pointing to a triple-digit higher open by the Big Board later in the morning. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 24.45 points higher at 18,372.12, the NASDAQ Composite fell 17.09 points to 5,005.73 and the S&P 500 rallied 0.28 point to close at 2,152.42 Wednesday. DJIA futures were 143 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei up 154.46 points (0.9%) while China's Shanghai Composite slipped 6.67 points (0.2%). European markets were higher with London's FTSE 100 up 70.30 points (1.0%), Germany's DAX was 150.86 points (1.5%) higher, and France's CAC 40 gained 53.51 points (1.2%). The U.S. dollar index gained 0.065 to 96.281. Crude oil rallied $0.61 to $45.36 while Brent crude added $0.66 to $46.92. August gold was $14.50 lower at $1,329.10. China's Dalian soybean futures and Malaysian palm oil futures were both higher again overnight.
