By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally lower, November soybeans were 6 cents lower, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: Commodities in general were lower overnight into Monday morning with metals, grains, and most energies showing losses. DJIA futures were posting triple-digit losses, hinting at a continued sharp sell-off when the big board opens later in the morning. The U.S. dollar index was showing only a small gain. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 394.46 points (2.1%) lower at 18,085.45, the NASDAQ Composite lost 133.57 points (2.5%) to 5,125.91, and the S&P 500 fell 53.49 points (2.5%) to close at 2,127.81 Friday. DJIA futures were 119 points lower overnight. Asian markets were lower with Japan's Nikkei off 292.84 points (1.7%) while China's Shanghai Composite lost 56.88 points (1.9%). European markets were also lower with London's FTSE 100 down 106.45 points (1.6%), Germany's DAX fell 214.24 points (2.0%), and France's CAC 40 lost 90.90 points (2.0%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.029 higher at 95.365. Crude oil was down $0.85 to $45.03 while Brent crude fell $0.83 to $47.18. December gold was $4.50 lower at $1,330.00. China's Dalian soybean futures were quietly higher overnight.
