By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, November soybeans were fractionally higher, and December Chicago wheat 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: Grains were mostly lower early Friday morning following another low volume overnight session. None of this is overly surprising, particularly with the U.S. dollar index posting another rally. Metals and energies were both lower, as were DJIA futures. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 177.71 points (1.0%) higher at 18,212.48, the NASDAQ Composite gained 75.92 points (1.4%) to 5,249.69, and the S&P 500 rallied 21.49 points (1.0%) to close at 2,147.26 Thursday. DJIA futures were 39 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei up 114.28 points (0.7%). European markets were mostly lower with London's FTSE 100 up 3.28 points, Germany's DAX lost 46.55 points (0.4%), and France's CAC 40 fell 17.53 points (0.4%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.150 higher at 95.438. Crude oil fell $0.58 to $43.33 while Brent crude dipped $0.66 to $45.93. December gold was $2.00 lower at $1,316.00. China's Dalian soybean futures were closed while Malaysian palm oil futures traded higher again overnight.
