DTN Closing Livestock Comment 09/29 15:14 Cattle Futures Close Lower Thursday Live cattle futures closed lower Thursday, down 30 to 157. Feeder cattle contracts were mostly lower, down 5 to 95. May and August were higher. Lean hog futures were mostly higher, up 27 to 40. May was down a nickel. By Rick Kment DTN Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Cash cattle trade was quiet Thursday afternoon with a few scattered bids at $160-$161 in the North. Trade may be basically done for the week. According to the closing report, the national hog base is $0.62 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($46.00-$50.00) weighted average $48.93. Corn futures closed steady to fractionally lower, Dec and March contracts steady, May through Sep down 1/4 cent.
