USDA Announces $7.6 Million in Grants to Create Jobs and Grow Economic Opportunity in Rural America

WASHINGTON, Oct. 19, 2016 – Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is awarding $7.6 million in grants to support projects that will grow opportunity in rural America through job training and economic development. The grants will support communities in at least 24 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, with several projects spanning communities in multiple states. This investment marks the latest effort at USDA to support the rural economy, which the latest Census data shows is rebounding.

This system can also benefit the grower by providing 24-7 access to all the terms and conditions of their policies and the status of every claim they've filed. The grower can also monitor their account with Great American and premium payments can be made online.

Training

We offer over 400 classes in multiple locations to fit your needs.

Great American provides our agents with a comprehensive training program. We provide the tools and resources necessary to stay current in the ever-changing Crop Insurance Industry. We also provide training based on specialty crops and products, as well as basic training for agents new to the Crop Insurance Industry.

Great American provides convenient online testing that allows agents to meet their federal testing requirement from the comfort of their homes or offices. All agent testing will be completed within Crop University. Contact your regional office representative to establish a User ID and password.
