By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 4 cents higher, January soybeans were 18 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 4 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: After a long day-and-a-half of watching markets react to an election and USDA reports, the eyes can sometimes play tricks on a person. Such is the case early Thursday morning where every market sector is showing green. Soybeans have erased Wednesday's 20-cent, post-report sell-off, helping corn and wheat trade higher. DJIA futures are posting a triple-digit gain as the U.S. dollar index dances higher with gold and the rest of the metals sector. Energies are mostly higher despite headlines that OPEC production has hit an all-time high. Hard to believe what I see "lookin' out my backdoor." OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 256.95 points (1.4%) higher at 18,589.69, within 50 points of its all-time high. The NASDAQ Composite gained 57.58 points (1.1%) to 5,251.07, and the S&P 500 rallied 23.70 points (1.1%) to close at 2,163.26 Wednesday. DJIA futures were 137 points higher Thursday morning, hinting at a new record high by the DJIA at the open.
