DTN Early Word Grains 11/22 05:56 Green Beans with Extra Oil December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 1 cent higher, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, January soybeans were 1 cent higher, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: The grain sector was mixed overnight with the soy complex higher while corn and wheat showed small losses. Outside markets were mostly higher, led once again by a solid rally in crude oil. Continued rumors of a possible OPEC production deal are providing support to the short-term uptrend on daily charts. Gold and DJIIA futures are also higher while the U.S. dollar index is showing a loss early Tuesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 88.76 points (0.5%) higher at 18,956.69. The NASDAQ Composite gained 47.35 points (0.9%) to 5,368.86, and the S&P 500 rallied 16.28 points (0.8%) to close at 2,198.18 Monday. DJIA futures were 56 points higher Tuesday morning. Asian markets were higher with Japan's Nikkei up 56.92 points (0.3%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 320.29 points (1.4%), and China's Shanghai Composite added 30.20 points (0.9%). European markets were also higher Tuesday with London's FTSE 100 up 66.85 points (1.0%), Germany's DAX gained 59.30 points (0.6%), and France's CAC 40 rallied 32.17 points (0.7%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.200 lower at 100.850. Crude oil added $0.46 to $48.70 while Brent crude rallied $0.55 to $49.45. December gold was $7.20 higher at $1,217.00. China's Dalian soybean and Malaysian palm oil futures were both higher again overnight.
