DTN Early Word Grains 11/29 05:55 Grains Seeing Red Early Tuesday March corn was 2 cents lower, January soybeans were 7 cents lower, and March Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn was 2 cents lower, January soybeans were 7 cents lower, and March Chicago wheat was 3 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Commodities in general were lower overnight despite continued pressure, albeit light, in the U.S. dollar index. Grains were red across the board, led by wheat. DJIA futures and natural gas were some of the few markets trading higher early Tuesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 54.24 points (0.3%) lower at 19,097.90. The NASDAQ Composite lost 30.11 points (0.6%) to 5,368.81, and the S&P 500 fell 11.63 points (0.5%) to close at 2,201.72 Monday. DJIA futures were 28 points higher Tuesday morning. Asian markets were mostly lower with Japan's Nikkei down 49.85 points (0.3%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 93.50 points (0.4%), and China's Shanghai Composite added 5.92 points (0.2%). European markets were mixed Tuesday with London's FTSE 100 down 42.87 points (0.6%), Germany's DAX gaining 10.06 points (0.1%), and France's CAC 40 rallied 24.38 points (0.5%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.050 lower at 101.280. Crude oil dropped $0.70 to $46.38 while Brent crude fell $0.64 to $47.60. December gold was $3.60 lower at $1,190.20. China's Dalian soybean futures were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were lower overnight.
