DTN Early Word Grains 11/30 05:57 An Epic OPEC Morning March corn was 3 cents higher, January soybeans were 5 cents higher, and March Chicago wheat was 4 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn was 3 cents higher, January soybeans were 5 cents higher, and March Chicago wheat was 4 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: OPEC has the floor early Wednesday as global markets await a decision on possible output cuts. Optimism for such a move had crude oil futures up $3.00 overnight. Grains were also higher, gaining back a small part of what was lost during Tuesday's sell-off. The U.S. dollar index was near unchanged, gold was slightly lower, and DJIA futures were higher again Wednesday morning. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 23.70 points (0.1%) higher at 19,121.60. The NASDAQ Composite gained 11.11 points (0.2%) to 5,379.92, and the S&P 500 rallied 2.94 points (0.1%) to close at 2,204.66 Tuesday. DJIA futures were 20 points higher Wednesday morning. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei up 1.44 points, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 52.70 points (0.2), and China's Shanghai Composite lost 32.89 points (1.0%). European markets were higher Wednesday with London's FTSE 100 up 43.65 points (0.6%), Germany's DAX gaining 14.24 points (0.1%), and France's CAC 40 rallied 12.73 points (0.3%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.06 higher at 101.99. Crude oil rallied $2.95 to $48.18 while Brent crude jumped $3.24 to $49.62. December gold was $2.30 lower at $1,188.50. China's Dalian soybean futures were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher overnight.
