Hard red spring continues to remain relatively firm. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a solid week of demand for soft white and hard red spring wheat. Overall sales came in near 18 mb for the week to place current year commitments at 693 mb, which is 31% ahead of a year ago and 7% ahead the five-year average pace. Top seller was hard red spring with 8.1 mb, putting sales at 220 mb and nearly 30% ahead of both a year ago and the five-year average. White wheat registered the fourth straight week near the 5 mb mark, putting year-to-date sales at 121 mb; 19% ahead of last year and 5% above average. Hard red winter sales slipped back to 3.3 mb to put current year sales at 282 mb; 90% ahead of last year and 25% above the five-year average. Top Buyers...Indonesia ranked as top buyer for the week, registering a total of 5.1 mb; followed by 3.2 mb for Mexico and 2.3 mb for South Korea. Notable among the list was China booking 2 mb of soft white and hard red spring.
