DTN Early Word Grains 12/27 06:12 On the Ninth Day of Christmas... March corn was 2 cents higher, January soybeans were 10 cents higher, and March Chicago wheat was 5 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn was 2 cents higher, January soybeans were 10 cents higher, and March Chicago wheat was 5 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday morning shows grain traders are still full of holiday cheer, rallying the soybeans double-digits with corn and wheat following behind. Outside markets, including energies and metals, were mixed though gold was also posting a solid double-digit gains. The U.S. dollar index was higher while DJIA futures were lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 14.93 points higher at 19,933.81. The Nasdaq Composite gained 15.27 points (0.3%) to 5,462.69 and the S&P 500 added 2.83 points (0.1%) to close at 2,263.79 Friday. DJIA futures were 1 point lower early Tuesday morning. Asian markets were mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei up 6.42 points and China's Shanghai Composite down 7.91 points (0.3%). European markets were higher Tuesday with London's FTSE 100 closed for holiday, Germany's DAX up 12.65 points (0.1%), and France's CAC 40 adding 2.08 points. The U.S. dollar index was 0.08 higher at 103.04. March 30-year T-Bonds were down 12/32 at 148'24 while December gold climbed $10.90 to $1,144.50. Crude oil was up $0.12 to $54.04 while Brent crude was unchanged at $55.16. Dalian soybean futures were lower and Malaysian palm oil futures were higher overnight.
