DTN Early Word Grains 03/01 06:07 Grains Start March on the Green Side May corn was up 2 1/4 cents, May soybeans were up 7 cents, and May Chicago wheat was up 5 3/4 cents. By Todd Hultman DTN Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was up 2 1/4 cents, May soybeans were up 7 cents, and May Chicago wheat was up 5 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Corn, soybeans and wheat are all higher early Wednesday, still benefiting from Tuesday's discussion of proposed changes to the renewable fuels policy, even though the talk is still up in the air. Stock markets are starting higher, easing investor concerns after President Trump's first speech to Congress. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 25.20 points at 20,812.24. The Nasdaq Composite was down 36.46 points at 5,825.44 and the S&P 500 was down 6.11 points at 2,363.64 Tuesday. DJIA futures were up 79 points early Wednesday morning. Asian markets were higher with Japan's Nikkei up 274.55 points (1.4%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng up 35.76 points (0.2%), and China's Shanghai Composite up 5.20 points (0.2%). European markets were also higher Wednesday with London's FTSE 100 up 65.18 points (0.90%), Germany's DAX up 164.35 points (1.4%), and France's CAC 40 up 67.87 points (1.4%). The U.S. dollar index was up 0.41 at 101.77 while the euro was down 0.00550 at 1.05425. June 30-year T-Bonds were down 1 7/32nds at 150'14 while April gold was down $7.70 at $1,246.20. April crude oil was up $0.18 at $54.19 while Brent crude was up $0.25 at $55.76. Soybeans at the Dalian Exchange are mixed overnight and Malaysian palm oil futures were up 2.2%.
