DTN Early Word Grains 03/02 06:04 Grains Ease Back, Eye Export Sales May corn was down 1 1/4 cents, May soybeans were down 3 1/4 cents, and May Chicago wheat was down 3/4 cent. By Todd Hultman DTN Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was down 1 1/4 cents, May soybeans were down 3 1/4 cents, and May Chicago wheat was down 3/4 cent. . CME Globex Recap: Corn, soybeans and wheat were modestly lower early Thursday, taking a break after the surprise of two days higher before USDA releases its next weekly report of export sales. Possible changes in renewable policy are still in the air while Brazil works to move its record soybean harvest. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 303.31 points at 21,115.55. The Nasdaq Composite was up 78.59 points at 5,904.03 and the S&P 500 was up 32.32 points at 2,395.96 Wednesday. DJIA futures were down 1 point early Thursday morning. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei up 171.26 points (0.9%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng down 48.42 points (-0.2%), and China's Shanghai Composite down 16.91 points (-0.5%). European markets were lower Thursday with London's FTSE 100 down 1.66 points (0.02%), Germany's DAX down 14.17 points (-0.12%), and France's CAC 40 down 0.93 points (-0.02%). The U.S. dollar index was up 0.21 at 101.99 while the euro was down 0.00190 at 1.05290. June 30-year T-Bonds were up 6/32nds at 149'20 while April gold was down $5.80 at $1,244.20. April crude oil was down $0.47 at $53.36 while Brent crude was down $0.50 at $55.86. Soybeans at the Dalian Exchange are steady to lower overnight and Malaysian palm oil futures were up 1.1%.
